Things to do this weekend in Knoxville

Now that the kids are done collecting Easter eggs and waiting on the Easter Bunny, it’s time to find other fun things to do! Here’s my pick for the upcoming week:

Friday April 13th

Make a Bird’s Nest at Smart Toys and Books  at Mommy, Daddy, & Me Art Class. Call to see if they have any space left in their 10 a.m., 11 a.m. or noon classes. Suitable for ages 2 and up. $5 materials fee and reservations required. 865-691-1154

Ijams Nature Fun Stations
Is a new public program featuring free impromptu outdoor discoveries. Stop by and see what they’re up to this week at 3 p.m.

Saturday April 14th
Build a Game Show Chip Drop Game between 10-11 a.m at your local Lowes. Sign up online here to avoid disappointment. http://www.lowesbuildandgrow.com They have changed the site and you may need to sign up to use it before registering for your clinic.

Farragut Book Fest
Dress the kids up as their fave book characters for this literary event at Campbell Station Park between 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Don’t miss story times, magic shows, inflatables, snacks and more. And it’s free. Read more about this event in my post here

Kitts Market Handmade Gifts
It’s the last Saturday for Kitts Market Handmade Gifts at Kitts Café this week from 9 a.m.-3p.m.

Little Owl’s Night Storytime
Special storytime at Barnes and Noble at 11 a.m.

Bowl For Kids’ Sake is the largest annual fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Tennessee. Get a group of friends together to bowl at the following locations:
University of Tennessee Down Under: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 3-8 p.m. April 11
West Knoxville Strike and Spare: 1-5 p.m. April 12 and April 13
Oak Ridge Fountain Lanes: 11 a.m.-2 p.m. April 17
Maryville Crest Lanes: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. April 18 and 1-3 p.m. April 21
Knoxville Strike and Spare: 4-9 p.m. April 19 and April 20
